The existing church of St Michael in Farnley is comparatively
new, though built on the site of older chapels. Baptisms and burials were
carried out here from an early period; some memorial stones in the church
yard date back to the 17th century. Known records date back to 1624, though burial records do not start until 1794.
The entries here have been taken from memorials in the church yard and are therefore incomplete. The memorial stone numbering system is our own.
Please note that a name on a memorial doesn't mean that the person is buried there.
